NEW YORK, USA: The Haitian-American
Jason Pierre-Paul won the Super Bowl
with the Giants of New York. The
Haitian-born player nicknamed JPP
was noted in the final championship
of American football followed by
hundreds of millions of viewers.
Haitian American Jason Pierre-Paul
has marked the history of Super Bowl
last Sunday, Feb. 5, winning with
the New York Giants the American
football championship (NFL), one of
the most popular in the United
States.
Indeed, the New York Giants have
defeated the Patriots of New England
(21-17) in Indianapolis.
There were many viewers to follow
Haitian on NBC this final Super Bowl
because of their fellow Giants who
had pointed out in several phases of
the game.
Jason Pierre-Paul, nicknamed JPP,
was born on January 1, 1989 in
Deerfield Beach, Florida of Haitian
parents who emigrated to USA in
1983.
Four years after their success at
the Super Bowl against the Patriots,
the New York Giants have returned to
Indianapolis this Sunday to clinch
the prestigious trophy for the
fourth time.
Tens of thousands of fans including
hundreds of Haitians attended
Tuesday in the Big Apple to the
parade in honor of the New York
Giants.
Note that American football is not a
well-known sport in Haiti, Haitians
prefer the European football called
soccer in the United States.
