Haiti - News : Installation of ministers of the new Governments Martelly-Lamothe and the holding of the first Council of Ministers was an opportunity to collect some words of Jean Rodolphe Joazile, Minister of Defence; Marie Carmelle Jean-Marie, Minister of Economy and Finance; Mario Dupuy, Minister of Culture; Daniel Supplice, the Minister of Haitians living Abroad and Ady Jean Gardy Minister of Communication.  Jean Rodolphe Joazile, Minister of Defence: Former army officer, the new Minister of Defence, has vouched for the defense of territory "It is with joy that I find myself in this family who is that of the Ministry of Defence today reactivated after several years [...] Homeland defense will be the leitmotif of my mission [...]" explaining that the defense was not limited to the possible establishment of a new national force, but he intended to begin work to develop a plan to deal with major natural hazards and possible ecological threats. Regarding the presence of armed men in trellis, illegally occupying military bases and public buildings, the Minister declared "Son of a soldier, and myself soldier, legalistic as I am, I intend to enforce the Constitution prescribed."  Marie Carmelle Jean-Marie, Minister of Economy and Finance : Recalling the deplorable economic situation of the country and the difficult context of the global economy, the new Minister of Economy and Finance, Marie Carmelle Jean-Marie recommended the establishment of an attractive environment transparent with clear rules and fair for all domestic and international investors. The Minister has called his colleagues to work on the modernization of budgeting practices "with e-governance, it is possible to do better and faster while respecting the rules of public accounting."  Mario Dupuy, Minister of Culture :  The Minister of Culture, intends to address urgently: the problems and challenges of cultural education of young people, lack of cultural visibility, lack of trainational and international experts.

Fabiola Fameux Crowned Miss PFUR Moscow, Russia

 

 

 

MOSCOW, Russia:  Fabiola Fameux, a Haitian-Russian became on Friday Miss Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia (PFUR) in the city of Moscow.

 

 

Miss Fameux competed on March 2nd in the finals against a Venezuelan, an Argentine and 7 Russian contestants.

 

 

For the first time, one Haitian was involved in a contest Miss Moscow, and she won the competition among the daughters of several other nations.

 

 

Fabiola has received several gifts from organizers such as mobile phones, Iphone and air travel tickets to name a few.

 

 

The young Haitian is in her third year in philology (the study of historical linguistics from written documents) at the University of Russia Peoples' Friendship.

 

 

The student community of Haiti in Russia is not too large, we have learned. From 50 to 60 Haitian scholars are studying in this country. Some had arrived in this country before the earthquake of January 12, 2010.
